First, we should follow the order of operations (PEMDAS) P arentheses and groups E xponents and radicals M ultiplication D ivision A ddition S ubtractions We need to solve what is inside the parentheses first: (100–100)  /  (100–100) (100–100) = 0 Now, we can substitute this 0 in for both (100–100)s. 0  /  0 This is a problem because you cannot divide something by 0. It just doesn’t work. You can’t do it. You can’t split 1 cake into zero pieces: it’s either one piece, 2 half pieces, 3 third pieces. If it’s not there, it is zero whatever pieces. You can’t split the cake into pieces that don’t exist. In math, we say that 0/0 is  undefined. Therefore, (100–100) / (100–100) =  undefined
